Tunnel of Zoom

Yellow Tunnel │ GH2 + Lumix 100-300mm F4.0-5.6 │ 223mm F7.1 1/800s ISO160I don't often have my tele zoom with me. It's quite large for a Micro Four Thirds lens and tends to make my kit bulkier than I want most of the time. When I have it with me though, it's a blast to use because the focal lengths are so far out of the range I normally use. I use it mostly to compress distance; to make foreground and background seem closer together. Like the photo above of a temporary bridge in North Amsterdam. The yellow girders are actually spaced quite far apart; using a telephoto turns the bridge into a tunnel. Appearances can be deceiving.
