Stad Amsterdam │ GF1 + Lumix 20mm F1.7 │ 20mm F4.5 1/2500s ISO100Every 5 years Amsterdamers pack in as many people as possible into anything that's remotely seaworthy and set off to join the flotilla of inbound tall ships. In about 4 hours the stately procession from the North Sea down the Noordzeekanaal (North Sea Canal) reaches Amsterdam's Ijhaven (Ij Harbour).

Stunning work. My fav is the first shot.
The first photograph with the Stad Amsterdam and the wonderful Dutch Light makes me proud of our national nautical past. Well done and a fantastic photograph Björn!
Thanks, Wouter. As beautiful as the Dutch sky can be it is also very unpredictable, so you have to be lucky, especially when capturing a moving subject against it. In this case I actually chose the north bank of the Noordzeekanaal because I was hoping for light like this.
